Super falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala has been named in the Spanish Primera Iberdrola team of the year for 2019/20 campaign.
Oshoala is the only African player named among the elites of Spanish women topflight league. She was joined by seven other teammates, Sandra Panos, Mapi Leon, Marian Torrejon, Patri Guijarro, Alexia Putellas, Jenni Hermoso, Graham Hansen to make up 73% of the total selection.
The 25-year old striker recently completed a league season which saw her team achieve a record 21-game unbeaten streak. Barcelona women had 19 wins, two draws and no losses with 86 goals scored and only 6 conceded.
Oshoala had registered 19 goals in 20 appearances prior to the compulsory COVID-19 break before Spanish FA reached an agreement to end the season and crown table leaders FCB Femeni champions of Spain in May.
The four times Africa women player of the year then won her first ever league title in Europe with yet another honour to her collection of merit.
