Mikel Obi open to any possible move including African clubs

Ex Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has indicated that he won’t outrightly reject offers from clubs but rather consider them carefully as he is open for a move to anywhere in the world.

“There is more to life than football. I do not feel comfortable and don’t want to play football in this situation. Everyone should be home with their families and loved ones in this critical time. Season should be cancelled as the world is facing such turbulent times.” Mikel wrote on Instagram.

Mikel who is currently a free agent has been linked with a move to several club like Botafogo, a Brazilian Championship A Series club and a club in the Mexican Liga MX being the latest.

The 33-year old has has now stated that he is open to play anywhere even in Africa when ask if he could accept a potential move to play in the Egyptian League.

“I never ruled anything out. My goal is to continue playing football, and I hope I will have the opportunity. I do not reject any offers made to me, but rather study them well until I make the right decision.” Mikel told ON Sports.

Mikel had his longest career spell at Chelsea where he spent 11 year winning two Premier League title and a champions League in 2012. He later moved to Chinese club Tianjin TEDA, Middleborough before his last club Trabzonspor.
