Nantes sign Moses on permanent deal

Nantes FC have completed the signing of Nigerian international Simon Moses from Levante UD on a 4-year deal.

Moses joined The Canaries last summer on loan from Levante and have since made a huge impact on the club. His impressive form during the 2019/20 campaign earned him the Nantes player of the season after scoring nine goals with eight assists in 30 games.

Nantes President Waldemar Kita who is full of admiration for the 24 year-old recently disclosed that the French club intend to exercise the option of trigger to buy clause on his loan deal.

“We will exercise the option to buy. We will keep him. He is an excellent player, with a good mentality, Kita said in an interview with Presse Ocean.

This seem to have worked out well after the club confirmed that the agreement has been finalized to retain Moses permanently until 2024.

“It’s official, @m_simon27 stays in Nantes! Lent by @levanteud last season, Nigerian international engaged with the @fcnantes until 2024.” The club wrote on social media.

Reacting to the new development Moses expressed his delight to be a regular starter at the French club and also feels comfortable staying at Nantes knowing he has a considerable level of French fluency unlike the language barrier he experienced in Spain.

“At Levante, I did not play very well due to some circumstances with the coach. In Spain, the coach only spoke Spanish and I needed a translator,” Simon said.

“It was easier to play in France because I understand the language more and communication is very good with the coach.

“I am enjoying my football now. The most important thing is to play. Not to sit on the bench. To have the freedom to play, have the freedom to speak and to do what you know how to do best.”
