2 Baba named ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ by United Nations

The United Nations Refugee Agency’s Private Partnerships and Philanthropist Service in Africa, a nongovernmental organization has appointed Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia aka 2 Baba as Refugee Goodwill Ambassador.

2 Baba is experiencing yet another sensational affiliation as he has been in previous years. The Hypertek Digital boss recently notched up a role as Good Cause Ambassador for the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2019.

The 44-year-old is not just an accomplished artiste: he is also a big role model for the masses as attested to by his tally of numerous partnership with brands and organizations.

The Goodwill ambassadorial role was announced on Tuesday by the office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on social media while counting all the merits considered before appointing him for the duty.

“We are so excited to share the news that @official2baba has been appointed @refugees Goodwill Ambassador. 2Baba, your steadfast commitment for refugees and internally displaced people is remarkable and we are excited to continue this journey with you. Thank you for uplifting the narrative of the African refugee and IDPs.”

Reacting to the announcement, the one-time MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act said he is glad to take up the responsibility and will devote absolute commitment to the service so as justify the confidence they repose in him.

“Honoured and humbled by my appointment as regional goodwill ambassador of UNHCR. Thanks for the recognition.”

“This will no doubt deepen my commitment to supporting the effort of UNHCR personnel and volunteers who are on ground every day, working hard to provide support and hope to millions of forcefully displaced persons across the world. Special thanks to donors and supporters of the cause. Blessings one and all.”
