Bournemouth 4-1 Leicester: Cherries sink 10-man Leicester to ease relegation scare

Bournemouth earned an intrepidly daring victory at the Dean Court on Sunday to record their first win since the restart of Premier League.

The Cherries came into the game looking vulnerable having failed to record a win in five matches, losing four games and recording a draw since resuming action in June.

Bournemouth have been tipped as next in line to be confirmed for relegation after Norwich City were sent packing but they took an unbelievable turn around to beat red carded Leicester 4-1 to keep hopes of remaining in the Premier League alive.

The Foxes on the other hand battered a glorious gift of extending the point lead against fellow Champions League seeking side Chelsea who lost 3-0 to Sheffield United on Saturday.

They now stand a chance of slipping to fourth place if Manchester United win their outstanding match against Southampton on Monday.

The visitors led the encounter through Jamie Vardy in 23rd minute and dominated deficient Bournemouth all through the first half.

The Cherries dressing room situation is still unclear but coach Eddie Howe half time talks and strategy really worked out well as they returned into the second half with more confidence and vitality, seeking to prove a point.

Junior Stanislas initiated the comeback sequence in 66th minute when he cancelled out Jamie Vardy’s first-half opener by converting a spot kick shortly before Dominic Solanke doubled the lead and recorded his first goal since January 2019.

Things quickly went from worse to desperate for the Foxes as Caglar Soyuncu was sent off and Johnny Evans slotted home into his own net before Solanke scored his second goal of the night to seal a resounding 4-1 victory for Bournemouth.

The win awakens Eddie Howe men’s determination in fighting to avoid relegation as they are now three points behind Westham and Watford who are 16th and 17th placed respectively.
