Paulo Dybala has won the award for outstanding player considered to have performed best in Italian topflight.
The Argentine edge last year’s winner Cristiano Ronaldo and Italy top scorer Ciro Immobile to be crowned best footballer of the year for 2019/20 Serie A season.
The organizing body of Italian League announced Dybala as winner on Tuesday. Liga Seria A also awarded the best players in the different positions on the field.
Despite Ciro Immobile’s outstanding performance this season which saw him lead Seria A goal chart and beat Robert Lewandowski to winning European golden shoe, the Lazio man still missed out in best player award but was recognised as the Best Forward of the Season.
Dybala’s teammate, Wojciech Szczesny was named best goalkeeper while on-loan at Parma from Juventus young star Dejan Kulusevski clinched the Young Player of the Year prize.
Stefan De Vrij who was solid for Inter Milan scooped the prize for best defender and Atalanta’s Papu Gomez became midfielder of the year.
