Considered by many for not just her expertise but also her zest for charity and spreading happy vibes, the 2020 VIP 360 Event humanitarian award winner joins Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) to promote the value of youngsters in the country.
The Director-General, Mr Obinna Nwaka, appointed Tonto Dikeh as CYMS Director of Socials and Empowerment in an official letter to the actress on Monday.
The appointment letter with reference number CYMS/HQ/ALP/012 read: “This medium is to officially inform you of your appointment as DIRECTOR, SOCIALS & EMPOWERMENT (012) of this prestigious organization established to sensitize and mobilize youth people to support Federal government policies.”
Being admired vastly in the country not the least due to her positioning as a fascinating actress but her philanthropy endeavors has seen her foundation make a huge impact in the society, the latest being a partnership with Prosperity For Africa to launch COVID-19 initiative” themed “Raw Food Bank For 5,000 Nigerians”
The program saw items: 400 bags of 25kg and 100kg rice, 300 guns of tomatoes, 10,000 bags of pure water, 10,000 cartons of Nodles, 10,000 loaves of bread,130 bags of rice, 130 bags of beans, 2000 multivitamin, 2000 immune booster and 10,000 milk for infant babies donated to the needy amid coronavirus pandemic crisis.
Tonto Dikeh will now lead the race in setting examples for juvenile talent and generation in Nigeria. In her acknowledgement note, the movie star welcomed the chance as an opportunity to beat positive impact on youths in the country.
She said that: “Dear fans, friends and Nigerians, i have received my appointment letter signed by Mr Obinna Nwaka the Director General which confirms my position as the Director, Socials & Empowerment at Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS).
“While counting on your usual supports on this journey, i really appreciate your prayers and understanding. This is another great opportunity for me to contribute to the youths and over all development of our great country.
“Thanks to the members and National Executive Council for finding me worthy to serve as a Director. Thank you NIGERIA.”
Beginning on the first day of this appointment, Tonto Dikeh will hold this office for the next two years thereafter subject to renewal.
