In the recently concluded 8thedition of Businessday Banks and Other Financial Institutions(BAFI) Awards, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe, PhD. Founder/CEO LAPO Group wins the ‘CEO of the Decade’ Microfinance Banks Category.
The award is in recognition of his strategic positioning of LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited as the largest microfinance bank and most socially impactful microfinance bank in Nigeria.
Speaking to Journalist, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe, Founder LAPO, reiterates “Micro-lending has been my life; and I cherish my decision to get involved very early.
This evening, at the Nigeria’s Banks and Other Financial Awards (BAFI Awards) ceremony, my contributions to the microfinance sector were acknowledged with the “CEO of the Decade (2010-2020) Microfinance Bank Category “award. The award is dedicated to all stakeholders in the sector-regulators, operators and funders – past and present.”
In a related development, LAPO Microfinance Bank limited a premium Microfinance institution in Nigeria won the “Microfinance Bank of the Year 2020’ Microfinance Banks category in the prestigious Businessday Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards.
Furthermore, in a statement issued by Oluremi Akande, Head of Communications of LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited, reads “LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited has won this award category (The Best Microfinance Bank of the Year) for the 7thconsecutive times (2014-2020); a recognition of the Bank’s consistency in the delivery of its promise of social and economic empowerment of members of low-income households and support to owners of Small Medium Enterprises.”
