Sanusi:  Nigeria Breakup campaigners need rethink 

Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has asked those calling for Nigeria’s breakup to have a rethink.
Speaking yesterday during the launch of his book ‘ For the Good of The Nation’ held in Lagos, he said there is need for cut Nigeria passion for debts, and maintain fiscal discipline.
Sanusi also said there was no need to keep borrowing to consume.
“This generation cannot continue to borrow to consume,” he advised.
He emphasized the gains of educating the girl child  and promoting gender equality.
“I don’t want Nigeria to breakup because I am a beneficiary of Nigeria’s unity. We have to keep Nigeria together. Those seeking breakup of the country do not know what they are doing,” he said.
He said just being alive is a great achievement for him, adding that he led the first riot at age of eight.
“In june 1995 to 1996, I was in Sokoto prison as a victim of the injustice in the system. Many people are in prison for offences they never committed”, he said.
Sanusi said he has nothing but gratitude for all his friends who have supported him over the years.
He said he will be raising $2 million for the Mohammadu Sanusi II SDG Challenge to support the most vulnerable in the society especially empowering women and the girl child.
The event was attend by many dignitaries and captains of industry including Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, Governors, bank Chief Executive Officers among others.
