Former Manchester City striker, Mario Balotelli has been reprimanded for his defiance following Brescia Calcino decision to end the 29 year-old contract.
Brescia owner, Massimo Cellino revealed that Balotelli has been missing numerous training session among other improper behaviour resulting to gross misconduct that cannot be tolerated further.
Despite signing a 36-month deal on his terminated contract, the sanction arrived barely 10 months after joining the Italian club making Brescia the second club the striker will have a controversial exit with in 18 months.
When questioned, Cellino expressed his deep frustration on Balotelli’s attitude since he joined The Lioness last summer.
“He is black and working on lightening up but he is facing troubles, what can I tell you? Maybe Balotelli gives importance to social media than his own values, as a sportsman and as a man. I haven’t signed him for social media, I did because he is brilliant on the pitch and still young enough to have a future in football. He has to learn how to answer on the pitch then he will be a footballer again. At the moment he is far from it.” Cellino told Daily Mirror
He further laid emphasis on the striker inability to merge the purpose he was signed for as Brescia are currently languishing at Seria A table bottom with just few games left to play this season.
“I signed him dreaming he would be an added value but never thought he had to be the one sailing our club. I told him this as I’m telling you. Since he arrived, Balotelli needed us to help him more than we needed him to help us. We should have dropped him before as now we are weaker and it will be harder to help him”
Brescia representatives have met Balotelli’s lawyer to agree on a financial settlement that will allow him join any club when the summer transfer window opens.
