Ross Barkley lights up semifinal pathway for Chelsea in FA Cup

England international Ross Barkley scored the only goal which earned Chelsea a place among the final four slots that will further compete in FA Cup this season.

Chelsea beat Leicester City 1-0 at King Power stadium courtesy of Barkley’s strike. The midfielder met a cross directed from the right into the penalty area by Willian Borges with a thrust to beat Foxes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in goal.

Not a glamorous one but a needed win as failure for the Blues to win would have further deemed their hope of a silverware this season.

Chelsea kicked off the encounter without the midfielder but his absence on the pitch was not greatly regarded as the men in action adequately oversaw duties of the middle area, drawing more ball and keeping considerable amount of possession with Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham missing out in registering a goal from close attempts.

Frank Lampard will definitely be full of praise on his fruitful decision to call off Barkley from the Bench and introduce him immediately the teams resumed from halftime break.

The midfielder instantly keyed into the game, orchestrating most of the deadly offensive play before breaking the deadlock after 63 minutes to set Chelsea on a slim ride to Wembley.

With Manchester United and Arsenal already waiting to pair the Blues next round, winner of Manchest City and Newcastle fixture will secure the last slot in this season FA Cup semifinal.
