The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says a fire outbreak at its branch in Gombe State did not cause any significant damage.
Earlier media reports indicated the fire occurred early on Friday, July 3, 2020.
In a brief tweet on its official Twitter account, the apex bank said the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
The statement also noted that the fire only partially destroyed some furniture in the Branch Controller’s office before it was promptly put out.
“There was no injury and no record or other asset of the Bank was affected,” the CBN said.
