Emzor Educates Young Pharmacists Group On Best Practices

The Executive Director, General Duties, Emzor Pharmaceutical Group, Uzoma Ezeoke has encouraged young pharmacists in Lagos to employ best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.

She encouraged them  to continuously contribute their quota towards uplifting the industry and transforming the world.

In a statement issued during the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria  Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG) Lagos week 2020, she also advised the professionals to recognize the power of access and bring their skills to the table when going about their daily tasks.

Ezeoke emphasized the need for patient interaction in administering medicines as this served as the basis of professionalism.

The event presented opportunity for young professionals to learn from industry experts across different aspects of pharmaceutical practices like manufacturing, testing, logistics, branding, and financial management. An interactive panel session encouraged full participation, where relevant questions were asked and answered by the panelists.

The PSN-YPG Lagos week event, which was an initiative of the Emzor Group, was designed to support the Young Pharmacists Group.

Ezeoke emphasised on the need to interact with patients before administering medicines as this helped to create relief in the patient and build a high level of trust between the pharmacist and the patient.

According to her, she stated that “As a pharmacist, one of your key roles is to manage your patients, irrespective of the sickness, make them feel comfortable enough to tell you how they feel and help them build trust and confidence in you, convince them on products that best suit their cases if necessary, feel free to ask questions and guide them rightly. Do not forget, you always have an opportunity to interact with patients as a community pharmacist and as such, should see that as a medium to transform their mindset on the professional services a pharmacist can render aside administering medications”

The Young Pharmacists’ Group, established in 2012 is modelled after the Young Pharmacists’ Group of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP-YPG), and it is an interest group of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN). Membership is open to all pharmacists licensed by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria who are not more than 35 years of age and/or more than 5 years post-graduation from an accredited Pharmacy school.

Emzor Pharmaceutical has been a strong supporter of the vision of the Young Pharmacists Group from its inception and the company has been in relevant partnerships with the group over the years, including media engagement. Emzor pharmaceutical in line with its commitment to grow the pharmaceutical industry saw the PSN-YPG Lagos Week 2020 as an opportunity for the brand to continuously reiterate its commitment to best practices, and support professionals in the field with an enabling environment and necessary mentorship.
